Services

And Programs

We are a society in desperate need of healing. Only by working together to create a culture of respect can we find peace and strength. Voices Against Violence for Women and Children was birthed to empower women and children who are victims of domestic abuse. Our demographical service arena includes eight Southern California counties with special emphasis on Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties and the City of West Covina and Covina mainly due to an established relationship with West Covina Police Department.

We currently offer comprehensive and cohesive counseling, restraining order preparation assistance (at no cost), empowerment workshops, financial management workshops, self-defense classes, resume writing and job readiness skills workshops, temporary shelter assistance (which provides the victims with temporary shelter for up to 15 days in a hotel), scholarship programs (5 scholarships in the sum of $500.00 available to students who are transitioning from 11th to 12th grade, who have suffered from family violence), a holiday toy drive, our Adopt-a-Family Program and Survivor’s Retreat.

OVERVIEW OF SERVICES

Rebuilding lives is an important and often difficult task.

It takes dedicated and experienced staff, outstanding support programs, and time. Without intervention and education programs, victims of domestic violence find it extremely difficult to break the cycle of coercion and abuse that have become the norm in their lives.

Through the comprehensive domestic violence programs and services at Voices Against Violence, victims of domestic violence receive the time and the tools necessary to live healthy, independent, and violence-free lives.

By reducing risk factors and providing the necessary information, education, life skills and support, Voices Against Violence is able to break the cycle of domestic violence and empower victims to move beyond the abuse and live fulfilling lives.
